บิณฑบาต
บิณฑบาต เป็นกิจวัตรของพระภิกษุสงฆ์และสามเณรในพระพุทธศาสนา โดยพระพุทธองค์ทรงสรรเสริญการบิณฑบาตว่าเป็นกิจอันประเสริฐ เป็นการโปรดสัตว์ เพราะการออกบิณฑบาตนั้นนับว่าเป็นการเผยแผ่พระศาสนาทางหนึ่งด้วย ดังในสมัยพุทธกาลที่พระภิกษุสงฆ์จะเทศนาโปรดแก่บรรดาชาวบ้านซึ่งมาร่วมทำบุญ อันเป็นต้นเหตุแห่งการสวดให้พรหลังภัตตกิจในปัจจุบันนี้ ประเพณีนี้ชาวพุทธถือกันว่าเป็นการสร้างกุศล และยังสามารถการอุทิศส่วนกุศลให้กับญาติผู้ล่วงลับไปแล้วด้วย
Going On Alms-Round
Going on alms-round is the daily activity of the Buddhist monks and novice monks. The Lord Buddha regards this activity as being sublime because it is one of the ways to propagate Buddhism. During the Lord Buddha’s time, laypeople attended the temple to listen to Dhamma lectures and accumulate merit by offering food and other requisites to the Buddhist monks. It was how the customary practice of giving blessings to the laypeople by the Buddhist monks at the end of their meal originated. The offering of food and other requisites to the Buddhist monks allows the laity to accumulate merit and dedicate the earned merit to departed loved ones.
托钵
托钵是比丘和沙弥的日常事务。佛陀曾赞美说：托钵为高尚之行仪，亦可普济众生。事实上，托钵也是一种弘法。在佛陀时代，当施主供钵后，僧众会为他们开示说法，这也是现今僧众饭食后诵经祝福的缘起。如今，佛教徒将此文化看作是一种功德的累积，也可将功德回向给往生的亲人。
แต่ในสังคมปัจจุบัน หลายคนมองว่าพระบิณฑบาต เป็นการขอความช่วยเหลือจากญาติโยม ซึ่งความจริง ต้องมองไปยังจุดเริ่มต้น คือ พระภิกษุท่านมีคุณธรรมหลายประการ ดังนั้นสาธุชนจึงอยากที่จะมีส่วนร่วมในการสนับสนุนให้พระภิกษุท่านไม่ต้องกังวลเรื่องการหุงหาอาหาร แสวงหาปัจจัย 4 เพื่อให้ท่านมีเวลาในการศึกษาธรรมะและปฏิบัติธรรมมากยิ่งขึ้น
Unfortunately, many people these days harbor the wrong view that the Buddhist monks are begging food from people when in fact, the Buddhist monks given their righteousness and virtue serve as the most abundant merit-field for the householders. It is the righteous and virtuous monks who make it possible for the householders to accumulate a huge amount of merit.
当今社会，有的人认为比丘托钵是向居士乞食。事实上，应从其本源去理解，即比丘具足诸多德行，居士自愿发心护持，使比丘不必为饮食或四事担忧，安心修行佛法与禅定。
คุณธรรมของพระสงฆ์ที่ทำให้ท่านเป็นเนื้อนาบุญ สมควรได้รับความเคารพยกย่อง
- พระสงฆ์เป็นผู้ปฏิบัติดี คือ ปฏิบัติตามเส้นทางสายกลาง ไม่หย่อนนัก ไม่ตึงนัก ปฏิบัติตามคำสอนของพระพุทธเจ้า
- เป็นผู้ปฏิบัติตรง คือ ไม่ปฏิบัติเพื่อโอ้อวด ไม่มีมายา ไม่ลวงโลก ไม่มีเล่ห์เหลี่ยม ตรงต่อหนทางพระนิพพาน
- เป็นผู้ปฏิบัติเพื่อรู้ธรรมเป็นเครื่องออกจากทุกข์ มุ่งปฏิบัติเพื่อนำไปสู่การบรรลุธรรม
พระสงฆ์ผู้มีคุณสมบัติ ดังกล่าวข้างต้น จึงเป็นผู้ควรแก่การเคารพกราบไหว้ และเป็นเนื้อนาบุญของโลก สิ่งของที่ถวายแด่พระสงฆ์ย่อมมีอานิสงส์มาก เปรียบเหมือนนามีดินดีและน้ำดี พืชที่หว่านไปย่อมให้ผลไพบูลย์
The Buddhist monks can be compared to the most abundant merit-field for the following reasons.
- They practice righteousness according to the Lord Buddha’s Dhamma-Discipline.
- They practice righteousness for the purpose of increasing their physical, verbal, and mental purity.
- They practice the Dhamma for the purpose of making clear the Path and Fruit of Nibbana.
Righteous and virtuous monks deserve the laity’s high regards. As the most abundant merit-field, the offerings made to such venerable monks can earn the giver a tremendous amount of merit just as planting in a good rice paddy can yield an abundant harvest.
比丘具足的德行：
1.比丘精进修行：遵循佛陀的教法精进修行中道，远离苦行与欲乐两种极端。
2.比丘如法修行：修行不是为了炫耀、欺骗、迷惑众生，而是为了证入究竟涅槃。
3.比丘为知法离苦而修行：即为证悟佛法，离苦得乐一心修行。
比丘具足的德行，使他们不仅深受爱戴与礼敬，还成为世人的福田。虔诚如法供养比丘僧众，将会获得不可思议的功德果报，犹如将植物播种在肥沃的田地里，丰收时必将硕果累累。
การบิณฑบาตครั้งแรก
ครั้งหนึ่งพระพุทธเจ้าแสดงพระธรรมเทศนาให้แก่เหล่าพระประยูรญาติในกรุงราชคฤห์ ในเช้าวันรุ่งขึ้น พระพุทธองค์ทรงพิจารณาว่า พระพุทธเจ้าในปางก่อน เมื่อเสด็จมาประทับอยู่ ณ พระนครของพระพุทธบิดาแล้ว ทรงปฏิบัติอย่างไร เมื่อทรงทราบด้วยพระญาณว่า พระพุทธเจ้าในปางก่อนได้เสด็จไปบิณฑบาตตามหมู่บ้านเพื่อโปรดหมู่ชนทั้งปวง พระบรมศาสดาจึงเสด็จพุทธดำเนินบิณฑบาตไปตามท้องถนนหลวงพร้อมเหล่าภิกษุสงฆ์ขีณาสพ บรรดาอาณาประชาราษฎร์เมื่อได้ชื่นชมพระบารมีต่างมีความปีติยินดีปราโมทย์ประนมมือถวายอภิวาทพร้อมแซ่ซ้องสาธุการดังไปทั่วทั้งพระนคร
The First Alms-Round
On the occasion that the Lord Buddha returned to His birthplace in order to teach the Dhamma to His family and relatives, He saw and knew with His Supernormal Insight what the past Lord Buddhas did when They returned to Their birthplace. What They did was to go out on alms-round. And so, the Lord Gotama Buddha and His Perfected Disciples (or Arahats) went on alms-round in the city in order to allow the people to earn an incomparable amount of merit. The people were overjoyed that they could offer food to the Lord Buddha and His Perfected Disciples. They paid deep homage to them and sang their praises.
首次托钵
有一次，佛陀回到迦毗罗卫城为释迦族人讲经说法。翌日，佛陀如是省察：当过去诸佛返回自己的国家时，是如何接受供养的？随后佛陀以智慧如实了知，过去诸佛会次第托钵，度化众生。于是，佛陀决定遵循传统，带领众比丘持钵次第化缘。消息一经传出，全城百姓皆法喜充满，纷纷虔诚行大布施，随喜赞叹声也响遍全城。

The Objectives of Going on Alms-Round
พระภิกษุออกบิณฑบาต เพื่อต้องการอาหาร มายังให้ร่างกายมีชีวิตอยู่ได้ เป็นการเยียวยาความหิว ความกระหายของร่างกายให้หมดไป เมื่อร่างกายมีเรี่ยวแรงกำลัง ก็นำมาใช้ศึกษาธรรมะและประพฤติปฏิบัติธรรม เพื่อนำธรรมะเหล่านั้นมาแนะนำสั่งสอนผู้คน
The Buddhist monk goes on alms-round in order to obtain sufficient food to sustain his body and assuage his hunger and thirst. Having been nourished by the food, he then uses the energy obtained to study and practice the Dhamma in order to pass the Dhamma knowledge on to the laity later on.
托钵的目的
比丘托钵是为了资养色身，使身体充满力量，专心精进修行，将佛法弘传给世人。
การบิณฑบาตยังเป็นการส่งเสริมความวิริยะ อุตสาหะ ความอดทน ทำให้เป็นผู้เลี้ยงง่าย อยู่ง่าย เป็นเครื่องช่วยปราบกิเลสตัณหา ที่มีอยู่ในใจ เป็นการฝึกให้ไม่หลงไปตามความอยากของลิ้น ของตา ของจมูก ที่ชอบรสอาหารที่ถูกอกถูกใจ
When the Buddhist monk goes on alms-round, it enables him to cultivate endeavor, persistence, and patience. It enables him to live a simple life. It enables him to quell his craving. And it enables him not to be trapped by the sight, smell, and taste of food.
托钵可以培养精进与忍辱，成为少欲知足者，有助于消除内心的烦恼，使自己的眼、鼻、舌，不沉迷于食物的色、香、味。
ผู้ที่บวชในพระพุทธศาสนานี้ ไม่ได้บวชเพื่อหาลาภสักการะ หาความอิ่มหนำสำราญ จากอาหารคาวหวานต่างๆ ที่ญาติโยมนำมาถวาย แต่มาบวชเพื่อชำระความโลภ ความโกรธ ความหลง กิเลสตัณหา อันเป็นเครื่องเศร้าหมอง เป็นโซ่ตรวนที่ผูกให้สัตว์โลกทั้งหลาย ให้เวียนว่ายตายเกิดในวัฏฏสงสารไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด
A person decided to enter the monkhood not for material gain, nor for the different foods offered him by the laypeople. A person enters the monkhood for the specific purpose of quelling his greed, anger, delusion, defilements, and craving which cause his mind to be gloomy and keep him fettered to the endless round of rebirth.
出家者，不是为了受人敬奉，享受施主供养的各种美味佳肴。而是为了断尽使众生受苦，历经无尽轮回的贪、嗔、痴。
อากัปกิริยาในการบิณฑบาต
เวลาที่พระภิกษุออกบิณฑบาต พระภิกษุจะใช้ 2 มือประคองบาตรเอาไว้แล้วเดินในกิริยาสำรวม พระภิกษุจะไม่เอ่ยปากขออาหารจากผู้คน หรือแสดงกิริยาในการขอ หรือยืนรอ (นอกจากได้รับนิมนต์ให้รอ) และเมื่อเวลามีคนถวายทาน (ใส่บาตร) พระภิกษุต้องรับทานโดยที่ไม่สามารถที่จะเลือกได้ว่าจะรับหรือไม่รับ หรือบอกกับผู้คนว่าตนต้องการสิ่งนั้นสิ่งนี้
Going on Alms-Round
When the Buddhist monk goes on alms-round, he uses both hands to hold his alms-bowl and walks in a silent and composed manner. He does not ask for food or stand still unless invited to wait for a layperson to offer him food. The Buddhist monk cannot refuse the food offered him; nor can he express his preference for certain food.
托钵的威仪
比丘托钵时，以双手持钵，威仪庄严的行脚街道或村落，领受施主布施。比丘不会向施主开口讨食，或展现乞食的行为，也不会站立等候（除非施主让其等候）。当施主供钵时，比丘会主动接受食物，不能捡择或拒绝，也不能告诉施主想要什么。
สิ่งที่ควรแก่การถวายพระที่มาบิณฑบาต
ตามปกติผู้คนจะถือว่า ของที่นำมาถวายพระจะต้องเป็นของที่ดีที่สุดเสมอ ดังนั้นผู้คนจะจัดเตรียมทานที่ดีที่สุดตามกำลังที่หาได้ และสิ่งที่จะนำมาใส่บาตร ควรเป็นอาหาร เพื่อให้พระฉันได้ ตามหลักในพระพุทธศาสนา มีเนื้อสัตว์ 10 อย่าง ที่ห้ามฉัน ได้แก่ มนุษย์ ช้าง ม้า สุนัข งู ราชสีห์ เสือโคร่ง เสือเหลือง หมี และเสือดาว
The Alms
Generally, the Buddhists know to offer the best quality food that they can afford to the Buddhist monk. However, food prepared from the ten kinds of meat as follows should never be offered to the Buddhist monk: Human, elephant, horse, dog, snake, lion, tiger, Bengal tiger, bear, and leopard.
适合布施之物
通常情况下，施主会尽力供养精美之物。适合供钵之物，应为比丘可食用之物。根据佛教规定，比丘不能食用十种动物的肉，分别是：人肉、象肉、马肉、狗肉、蛇肉、狮子肉、老虎肉、豹肉、熊肉和土狼肉。
ครั้งหนึ่งในสมัยพุทธกาล พระเทวทัตเสนอให้พระพุทธเจ้าห้ามไม่ให้ภิกษุฉันเนื้อตลอดชีวิต พระพุทธเจ้าก็ไม่ได้ทรงอนุญาตหรือบัญญัติกฎตามที่ขอ ทรงสอนมิให้ฆ่าสัตว์เองหรือสั่งให้ผู้อื่นฆ่า อีกทั้งได้มีพุทธบัญญัติ ห้ามพระภิกษุฉันเนื้อสัตว์ที่ได้มาจากการที่บุคคลคนนั้นตั้งใจที่จะฆ่าสัตว์โดยมีจุดประสงค์หลัก เพื่อที่จะเอาเนื้อมาถวายพระภิกษุ และพระภิกษุนั้น 1.รู้ 2.เห็น หรือ 3.ได้ยินว่า เนื้อนั้นมาจากการฆ่า เพื่อที่จะนำมาถวายตน
At one point during the Lord Buddha’s time, Venerable Devadatta suggested to the Lord Buddha that the Buddhist monk should not consume any kind of meat at all. The Lord Buddha did not agree for fear that it would make it difficult for the Buddhist monk to obtain food. However, He did forbid the Buddhist monk to consume the meat he knew, saw or heard that it came from an animal killed specifically for his consumption.
在佛陀时代，提婆达多比丘曾向佛陀提议，禁止比丘食肉。佛陀既没有同意也没有反对，只是教诲众比丘说：不能亲自宰杀，或命令他人宰杀动物。同时规定比丘不得明知而食用指定杀的动物之肉，以及比丘也不得食用因看见、听说和怀疑，为自己而宰杀的动物之肉。
ข้อควรปฏิบัติของผู้ใส่บาตร
1.ถอดรองเท้า และหมวก เพื่อเป็นการแสดงความเคารพ โดยส่วนใหญ่จะคุกเข่ายืน หรือจะยืนก็ได้ แล้วแต่สถานที่ ตามความเหมาะสม ควรใส่ชุดที่สุภาพเรียบร้อย โดยเฉพาะชุดของผู้หญิง ไม่ควรคอกว้าง รัดรูปและบางเกินไป
The Offering of Food
- The person offering food to the Buddhist monk should show his respect for the Buddhist monk by removing his shoes and his hat. He can either kneel down or stand up during the food-offering depending on circumstances. He should be appropriately dressed. Ladies should not wear clothes that are revealing, tight or thin.
施主供钵时，应注意的事项：
1.应脱下鞋子和帽子以示尊敬，依情形和当时条件跪坐或站立供钵。着装庄严得体，特别是女施主着装不应过宽、过窄或过薄。
2.ก่อนที่พระภิกษุเดินทางมาถึง สาธุชนมักจะนำอาหารที่จะถวาย จบที่ศีรษะแล้วอธิษฐาน
- Before the approach of the Buddhist monk, the person can hold the food to be offered above his head in order to make a resolute wish.
2.通常在比丘到来前，施主可将供养之物，举至眉心虔诚发愿。
3.เมื่อพระภิกษุเดินทางมาถึง จะหยุดยืนอยู่ตรงหน้าคนที่จะตักบาตร แล้วเปิดฝาบาตร จากนั้นคนที่ตักบาตรจะค่อยๆนำทานที่ตนมีใส่ลงไปในบาตรด้วยความนอบน้อม ไม่ควรชวนสนทนา หรือถามว่าชอบหรือไม่ชอบอะไร
- Once the Buddhist monk comes to standstill in front of the person and opens his alms-bowl, the person is to carefully place the food inside the Buddhist monk’s alms-bowl. The person is not to converse with the monk or ask him what kind of food he prefers.
3.当比丘行至面前站立，打开僧钵盖子后，施主应以恭敬心将供养品放入僧钵中，过程中不应交谈或询问比丘是否喜欢供养品。
4.เมื่อถวายเสร็จแล้วพระจะให้พร คนที่ตักบาตรประนมมือรับพร
- After the food was offered, the person is to put his palms together as in Namaskar in order to receive the monk’s blessings.
4.供养后比丘会诵经祝福，施主应双手合十接受祝福。
5.ขณะที่พระให้พร คนที่ตักบาตรอาจจะมีการกรวดน้ำเพื่ออุทิศส่วนกุศลให้กับผู้ที่ล่วงลับ และอธิษฐานจิตให้ชีวิตเจริญรุ่งเรือง
- While receiving the blessings, the person can dedicate his earned merit to departed loved ones and make a resolute wish for success and prosperity.
5.在比丘诵经祝福过程中，施主可以倒水回向功德，也可以虔诚发愿，让生命更加美好。
6.หลังจากที่พระภิกษุให้พรแล้ว คนที่ตักบาตร กล่าว “สาธุ” เป็นอันเสร็จพิธี
- At the end of the blessings, the person is to say, “Sadhu!”
6.比丘诵经祝福后，施主应以 “萨度”作为结束语。
การดำรงชีพของพระสงฆ์นั้นอยู่ได้ด้วยปัจจัยที่คฤหัสถ์จัดถวาย ท่านจึงสามารถมีกำลังกาย กำลังใจที่จะศึกษาธรรมะของพระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ให้เข้าใจ ทรงจำ นำมาประพฤติปฏิบัติ และเป็นผู้นำธรรมะที่ศึกษาแล้วมาสั่งสอนแก่สาธุชน
The Buddhist monk’s livelihood is made possible by the requisites offered him by the laity. It is the duty of the Buddhist monk to spend his time studying, understanding, memorizing, and practicing the Lord Buddha’s Teachings so that he can pass the knowledge on to the laity.
比丘依靠施主的布施资养色身，具足力量修行佛法和禅定。最终，将学有所成之佛法用于普度众生。
พระภิกษุคือผู้อุทิศตน ยอมสละความสะดวกสบายทางโลก เพื่อศึกษาคำสอนขององค์พระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ซึ่งเป็นที่พึ่งที่แท้จริง เป็นของสูงค่า ทำให้เรามีหลัก มีแนวทางในการดำเนินชีวิต ทรัพย์ที่เราถวายเมื่อเทียบกับธรรมะอันทรงคุณค่าที่พระภิกษุผู้อุทิศตนได้แนะนำสั่งสอน เรียกได้ว่าน้อยนิด ฉะนั้น ชาวพุทธควรทำบุญตักบาตรเป็นประจำทุกวัน เพื่อเป็นการสั่งสมบุญให้แก่ตนเอง ส่วนพระภิกษุจะได้มีเรี่ยวแรงกำลังพัฒนาตนให้กลายเป็นผู้ที่มีกาย วาจา ใจที่บริสุทธิ์มากยิ่งขึ้นเรื่อยๆ จนสามารถนำธรรมะขยายสู่ผู้คนได้มากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ แผ่เป็นวงกว้างออกไป จนชาวโลกได้รู้จักสันติสุขที่เกิดจากภายใน
The Lord Buddha’s Teachings or the Dhamma is about Truth; hence, it is precious. It is passed on from the Buddhist monk to the laypeople to serve as their refuge. Therefore, it is the Buddhists’ duty to offer food to the Buddhist monk daily. It is one important way for the laypeople to earn merit. At the same time, the Buddhist monk can use the energy derived from the laypeople’s food to undertake ever increasing self-training such that he will become increasingly purer physically, verbally, and mentally; and so that he can continue to propagate the Lord Buddha’s Teachings and spread peace to every corner of the world.
比丘具足舍身求法的精神，愿意舍弃世俗的舒适和方便，出家入佛门修行佛法。事实上，佛法既是出家人和在家人的依靠，也是无上之宝，可以让自己如法的修行与生活。我们以日常四事供养，比丘以殊胜之法做教诲，可谓是利人利己!因此，佛教徒应广行布施，这不仅是为自己累积福德资粮，也可以护持出家人，使他们具足身心力量精进修行，净化身口意，继续弘扬正法，使世人如实了知内在的快乐。
