(When you don&#8217;t know what to read 3)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Spiritual prayer or determination is not greed nor like a trade with undue profit. We cannot compare it to a business. To pray is to set a goal for what we want to be or wish in the future. So we set our minds to pray and merit will be a supportive force to be in accordance with that wish which is not about greed. If greed arises, merit will not arise because it is the opposite. We are following in the footsteps of the Lord Buddha when he was still a bodhisattva. Every time he did good deeds, whether small or large, he wished for the Buddhaship, which is a great realm. Even offering flowers to the pagoda, he wished to become the Lord Buddha. If we are going to think this is a trade with unreasonable profit, it is not a right thinking. He was accumulating merit to reach that goal. This is called Perfection of Resolution, i.e. accumulating merit little by little, like termites gradually building nests from small lumps of soil, or like buildings that need to be gradually built up until reaching the goal of the intended building.<\/p>\n<p>July 4, 2004<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>\u4f55\u8c13\u53d1\u613f<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u53d1\u613f\u4e0d\u662f\u8d2a\u6b32\uff0c\u4e5f\u4e0d\u5b58\u5728\u201c\u8fc7\u5ea6\u53d1\u613f\u201d\uff0c\u4e0d\u80fd\u4ece\u5546\u4e1a\u7684\u89d2\u5ea6\u53bb\u7406\u89e3\u3002\u53d1\u613f\u662f\u8bbe\u5b9a\u76ee\u6807\uff0c\u8bbe\u5b9a\u672a\u6765\u6211\u4eec\u60f3\u8981\u6210\u4e3a\u4ec0\u4e48\u6837\u7684\u4eba\u3002\u4ee5\u5bf9\u672a\u6765\u7684\u671f\u671b\u4e3a\u672c\u6765\u53d1\u613f\uff0c\u529f\u5fb7\u5c06\u6210\u4e3a\u652f\u6301\u8be5\u613f\u671b\u7684\u529b\u91cf\uff0c\u4e0e\u8d2a\u6b32\u65e0\u5173\u3002\u82e5\u8d2a\u6b32\u751f\u8d77\uff0c\u529f\u5fb7\u5c06\u4e0d\u4f1a\u751f\u8d77\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u5f7c\u6b64\u662f\u76f8\u5bf9\u7acb\u7684\u5173\u7cfb\u3002<\/p>\n<p>\u6211\u4eec\u6b63\u8ddf\u968f\u4f5b\u9640\u7684\u8db3\u8ff9\uff0c\u5f53\u4f5b\u9640\u8fc7\u53bb\u4e16\u8fd8\u662f\u83e9\u8428\u65f6\uff0c\u884c\u5584\u540e\uff0c\u65e0\u8bba\u5584\u884c\u5927\u5c0f\uff0c\u83e9\u8428\u90fd\u5c06\u53d1\u6210\u4f5b\u5927\u613f\uff0c\u5982\u5f53\u4ee5\u9c9c\u82b1\u4f9b\u517b\u820d\u5229\u5854\u65f6\u4e5f\u53d1\u613f\u6210\u4f5b\u3002\u82e5\u8ba4\u4e3a\u5982\u6b64\u53d1\u613f\u662f\u8fc7\u5ea6\u53d1\u613f\u5c31\u9519\u4e86\uff0c\u4f5b\u9640\u662f\u4e3a\u4e86\u8fbe\u6210\u76ee\u6807\u800c\u79ef\u7d2f\u529f\u5fb7\uff0c\u8fd9\u662f\u613f\u6ce2\u7f57\u871c\uff0c\u6b63\u5728\u4e00\u70b9\u4e00\u6ef4\u5730\u7d2f\u79ef\u529f\u5fb7\u3002\u5c31\u50cf\u767d\u8681\u5c31\u5730\u7b51\u5de2\uff0c\u4e5f\u662f\u4ece\u5c0f\u5c0f\u7684\u7a9d\u5f00\u59cb\u5efa\u9020\u4e00\u822c\uff0c\u6216\u662f\u50cf\u5efa\u7b51\u7269\u4e5f\u662f\u8981\u6162\u6162\u5730\u5efa\u9020\u4e00\u6837\uff0c\u76f4\u5230\u5efa\u7b51\u7269\u5982\u540c\u6211\u4eec\u8bbe\u8ba1\u7684\u4e00\u6837\u4fee\u5efa\u5b8c\u6210\u3002<\/p>\n<p Therefore, whatever merit we do, we must pray and make resolutions. Set our internal program with the goal of life. Whether a small merit, a medium merit, or a big merit we perform, we must pray afterward. So, whatever merit we do, whether it is offering food to monks or meditating, we do not despise it as a small merit. Let us aim for what we desire, for example, to the end of the Dharma. And then pray to cover it all because these aspirations can only be set in the human body, which we have limited time. So the term &#8220;trading with undue profit&#8221; must apply to businessman and cannot be used with people who pursue perfection.
