Khlong Bang Nang Taen Memorial, Nakhon Pathom Province is the location we have come to pay homage in honor of Luang Pu Wat Paknam, rediscoverer of Vijja Dhammakaya, in the pilgrimage path of the Mara Vanquisher. It is at the canal of Bang Nang Tean where Luang Pu made the resolute vow at the age of 19 to dedicate his life to ordination, marking the location as a vital point in the life of Luang Pu Wat Paknam.<\/p>\n

\u8fd9\u5ea7\u4f4d\u4e8e\u4f5b\u7edf\u5e9c\u4e09\u6500\u53bf\u5e2e\u4f9d\u53f9\u6cb3\u9053\u7684\u7956\u5e08\u7eaa\u5ff5\u5802\uff0c\u662f\u6211\u4eec\u53d1\u5fc3\u5171\u540c\u4fee\u5efa\u800c\u6210\uff0c\u4ee5\u6b64\u4f9b\u5949\u6cd5\u8eab\u6cd5\u95e8\u53d1\u73b0\u8005\u2014\u2014\u4f1f\u5927\u7684\u964d\u9b54\u7956\u5e08\u3002\u8fd9\u6761\u5e2e\u4f9d\u53f9\u6cb3\u9053\u662f\u7956\u5e08\u7acb\u8a93\u7ec8\u751f\u51fa\u5bb6\u4e4b\u5730\uff0c\u5f53\u65f6\u7956\u5e08\u53ea\u6709\u5341\u4e5d\u5c81\uff0c\u53ef\u662f\u90a3\u91cc\u5374\u6210\u4e3a\u4e86\u4ed6\u4eba\u751f\u7684\u91cd\u8981\u8f6c\u6298\u70b9\u3002<\/p>\n

When he was still a layman, he had a career as a rice merchant. At the age of 19, Sod Mee Keaw Noi (Luang Pu) was tasked to ferry rice as usual back to the province of Suphan Buri. The Bang Nang Taen Canal provided a shortcut during his journey. However, this canal was known for being crowded with thieves, waiting to loot ships. Therefore, this location was where Sod reflected on life, death, and the cycle of rebirth, acknowledging all must live and pass. It struck him that his ancestors and father worked especially hard to earn a living, but upon passing, they were unable to take with them the wealth they worked so hard for. Sod realized that one can only take merit and demerit with them<\/p>\n

\u7956\u5e08\u8fd8\u662f\u5c45\u58eb\u65f6\uff0c\u662f\u4e00\u4f4d\u7ecf\u8425\u7a3b\u7c73\u751f\u610f\u7684\u5546\u4eba\uff0c\u901a\u8fc7\u8d27\u8239\u8fd0\u8f93\u8d29\u5356\u5927\u7c73\u300219\u5c81\u90a3\u5e74\uff0c\u7956\u5e08\u8fd4\u56de\u7d20\u6500\u5e9c\u65f6\u9009\u62e9\u8def\u7a0b\u76f8\u5bf9\u8f83\u8fd1\u7684\u5e2e\u4f9d\u53f9\u6cb3\u9053\uff0c\u53ef\u662f\u5f53\u65f6\u8fd9\u6bb5\u6cb3\u9053\u5e38\u6709\u76d7\u8d3c\u51fa\u6ca1\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u4f1a\u62a2\u52ab\u6765\u5f80\u7684\u8239\u53ea\u3002\u56e0\u6b64\uff0c\u9014\u5f84\u6cb3\u9053\u7684\u8fd9\u6bb5\u7ecf\u5386\u8ba9\u7956\u5e08\u9886\u609f\u5230\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e2a\u4eba\u90fd\u4f1a\u751f\u8001\u75c5\u6b7b\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u8eab\u8fb9\u7684\u4eb2\u4eba\uff0c\u7956\u5148\u3001\u7237\u7237\u5976\u5976\u4e5f\u66fe\u901a\u8fc7\u505a\u751f\u610f\u83b7\u5f97\u5f88\u591a\u8d22\u5bcc\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u5f80\u751f\u540e\u5374\u4ec0\u4e48\u4e5f\u5e26\u4e0d\u8d70\uff0c\u80fd\u5e26\u8d70\u7684\u53ea\u6709\u5584\u6076\u679c\u62a5\u3002<\/p>\n

Therefore, I must make the most of the days I have left. One should seek the benefits of ordination, as the life of an ordinand is the most noble life one can achieve, especially during the era where Buddhism prospers. In order to continue the life of Buddhism, I must ordain.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time he reflected on his life, Sod was located at the bow of the ship and had his crew at the stern, which was the target of the thieves. It occurred to him that it was his property they were protecting, one would not allow others to get harmed on his behalf. Any thief would first attack the stern, therefore Sodswitched with his crew, moving himself back. At that moment, Luang Pu made the vow, \u201cif I survive, I shall ordain for the rest of my life. I will ordain without ever disrobing and shall stay in the status of monkhood until the end of my life.\u201d This great aspiration of the Great Master, and regardless of who holds this goal, is one only occurring to Bodhisattvas.<\/p>\n

Like our Lord Buddha when he was still Prince Siddhartha in the royal park and made a vow after encountering the four sights, so too had Luang Pu set his aspiration of lifelong ordination at the age of 19. This resolution set the course for Luang Pu to be reborn in the Dhamma body through the attainment of the Dhammakaya, to propagate the Vijja Dhammakaya and quell Mara, until expanding Vijja Dhammakaya across the world at our Wat Phra Dhammakaya. Paying homge to one worth of honor, such as Phra Mongkolthepmuni, Sod Candasaro, Mara Vanquisher, with reverence and faith, is necessary and a great blessing. The emergence of Luang Pu was not an easy matter. Mara obstructed the birth of Luang Pu\u2019s human form relentlessly because it fears the Mara Vanquisher, making the title, Mara Vanquisher, hold great importance. Therefore, it is appropriate for us honor Luang Pu by declaring his virtues with the pilgrimage path of the Great master.
