Luang Pu and his crew were returning home on an empty vessel after having sold all of the rice, the river current on that night was unusually strong and made it hard to maneuver the boat. The boat finally reached a small canal above Taladmai of the Nakornchaisri River in the province of Nakhon Pathom. This canal was called \u201cBang-e-an\u201d \u00a0and it could be used as a shortcut. However, the canal was rarely used by people because it was infested by pirates.
