On Alms-Round<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Going on alms-round is the daily activity of the Buddhist monks and novice monks.\u00a0 The Lord Buddha regards this activity as being sublime because it is one of the ways to propagate Buddhism.\u00a0 During the Lord Buddha\u2019s time, laypeople attended the temple to listen to Dhamma lectures and accumulate merit by offering food and other requisites to the Buddhist monks.\u00a0 It was how the customary practice of giving blessings to the laypeople by the Buddhist monks at the end of their meal originated.\u00a0 The offering of food and other requisites to the Buddhist monks allows the laity to accumulate merit and dedicate the earned merit to departed loved ones.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u6258\u94b5<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u6258\u94b5\u662f\u6bd4\u4e18\u548c\u6c99\u5f25\u7684\u65e5\u5e38\u4e8b\u52a1\u3002\u4f5b\u9640\u66fe\u8d5e\u7f8e\u8bf4\uff1a\u6258\u94b5\u4e3a\u9ad8\u5c1a\u4e4b\u884c\u4eea\uff0c\u4ea6\u53ef\u666e\u6d4e\u4f17\u751f\u3002\u4e8b\u5b9e\u4e0a\uff0c\u6258\u94b5\u4e5f\u662f\u4e00\u79cd\u5f18\u6cd5\u3002\u5728\u4f5b\u9640\u65f6\u4ee3\uff0c\u5f53\u65bd\u4e3b\u4f9b\u94b5\u540e\uff0c\u50e7\u4f17\u4f1a\u4e3a\u4ed6\u4eec\u5f00\u793a\u8bf4\u6cd5\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e5f\u662f\u73b0\u4eca\u50e7\u4f17\u996d\u98df\u540e\u8bf5\u7ecf\u795d\u798f\u7684\u7f18\u8d77\u3002\u5982\u4eca\uff0c\u4f5b\u6559\u5f92\u5c06\u6b64\u6587\u5316\u770b\u4f5c\u662f\u4e00\u79cd\u529f\u5fb7\u7684\u7d2f\u79ef\uff0c\u4e5f\u53ef\u5c06\u529f\u5fb7\u56de\u5411\u7ed9\u5f80\u751f\u7684\u4eb2\u4eba\u3002<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u0e41\u0e15\u0e48\u0e43\u0e19\u0e2a\u0e31\u0e07\u0e04\u0e21\u0e1b\u0e31\u0e08\u0e08\u0e38\u0e1a\u0e31\u0e19 many people these days harbor the wrong view that the Buddhist monks are begging food from people when in fact, the Buddhist monks given their righteousness and virtue serve as the most abundant merit-field for the householders.\u00a0 It is the righteous and virtuous monks who make it possible for the householders to accumulate a huge amount of merit.<\/p>\n<p>\u5f53\u4eca\u793e\u4f1a\uff0c\u6709\u7684\u4eba\u8ba4\u4e3a\u6bd4\u4e18\u6258\u94b5\u662f\u5411\u5c45\u58eb\u4e5e\u98df\u3002\u4e8b\u5b9e\u4e0a\uff0c\u5e94\u4ece\u5176\u672c\u6e90\u53bb\u7406\u89e3\uff0c\u5373\u6bd4\u4e18\u5177\u8db3\u8bf8\u591a\u5fb7\u884c\uff0c\u5c45\u58eb\u81ea\u613f\u53d1\u5fc3\u62a4\u6301\uff0c\u4f7f\u6bd4\u4e18\u4e0d\u5fc5\u4e3a\u996e\u98df\u6216\u56db\u4e8b\u62c5\u5fe7\uff0c\u5b89\u5fc3\u4fee\u884c\u4f5b\u6cd5\u4e0e\u7985\u5b9a\u3002<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u0e04\u0e38\u0e13\u0e18\u0e23\u0e23\u0e21\u0e02\u0e2d\u0e07\u0e1e\u0e23\u0e30\u0e2a\u0e07\u0e06\u0e4c\u0e17\u0e35\u0e48\u0e17\u0e33\u0e43\u0e2b\u0e49\u0e17\u0e48\u0e32\u0e19\u0e40\u0e1b\u0e47\u0e19\u0e40\u0e19\u0e37\u0e49\u0e2d\u0e19\u0e32\u0e1a\u0e38\u0e0d monks can be compared to the most abundant merit-field for the following reasons.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>They practice righteousness according to the Lord Buddha\u2019s Dhamma-Discipline.<\/li>\n<li>They practice righteousness for the purpose of increasing their physical, verbal, and mental purity.<\/li>\n<li>They practice the Dhamma for the purpose of making clear the Path and Fruit of Nibbana.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Righteous and virtuous monks deserve the laity\u2019s high regards.\u00a0 As the most abundant merit-field, the offerings made to such venerable monks can earn the giver a First Alms-Round<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the occasion that the Lord Buddha returned to His birthplace in order to teach the Dhamma to His family and relatives, He saw and knew with His Supernormal Insight what the past Lord Buddhas did when They returned to Their birthplace.\u00a0 What They did was to go out on alms-round.\u00a0 And so, the Lord Gotama Buddha and His Perfected Disciples (or Arahats) went on alms-round in the city in order to allow the people to earn an incomparable amount of merit.\u00a0 The people were overjoyed that they could offer food to the Lord Buddha and His Perfected Disciples.\u00a0 They paid deep homage to them and sang their still unless invited to wait for a layperson to offer him food.\u00a0 The Buddhist monk cannot refuse the food offered him; nor can he express his preference for certain suggested to the Lord Buddha that the Buddhist monk should not consume any kind of meat at all.\u00a0 The Lord Buddha did not agree for fear that it would make it difficult for the Buddhist monk to obtain food.\u00a0 However, He did forbid the Buddhist monk to consume the meat he knew, saw or heard that it came from an animal killed specifically for his the laypeople\u2019s food to undertake ever increasing self-training such that he will become increasingly purer physically, verbally, and mentally; and so that he can continue to propagate the Lord Buddha\u2019s Teachings and spread peace to every corner of the
